General Paulino Santos, Sr.  - husband of Elisa Angeles and father of seven.  To his children, and so many others, their father or "Papa" as they called him, was this and so much more.  Despite being the namesake to the Philippines' tuna capital, General Santos City, the story of General Santos and his commitment to his countrymen until his death as a prisoner of war in World War II is largely unknown to the public until now.

Written by the general's two oldest children - Rosa S. Munda and Isabel A. Santos aka Tita Rosky and Tita Bills - and his eldest grandson, Amado Santos Munda, Jr., General Paulino Santos: His Journey Through History , is more than a personal family memoir, but a chronicle of history in the Philippines from the general's rise as a young, Army First Lieutenant fighting in the Moro Wars to the highest of military ranks - General of the Philippine Constabulary and Chief of Staff to President Manual Quezon.  Moreover, it encapsulates the pioneering spirit of a post-Spanish colonial Philippines and the general's role in its young nationhood as administrator of the National Land Settlement Administration, leading  a group of settlers into the Mindanao region of Dadiangas that is now known as SOCCSKARGEN.

At this time, a limited amount of copies of the book are available.   The Santos family has taken on the endeavor of fulfilling the requests of Tita Bills and Tita Rosky that their father's story be spread throughout the archipelago at Philippine public schools.  Please contact us  HERE   if you're interested in donating books to schools in the Philippines and for general inquiries. We are hopeful that through this book, the legacy of the General and the people he led takes its rightful place in the annals of Philippine history.
